Evaporative systems

Evaporative coolers are best used in low-humidity areas as they use water to cool the air. The effect of evaporative coolers is a bit like the coolness you feel on your skin after emerging from a swimming pool.

Evaporative systems use a pump to push air across water and a fan to distribute the cooled air. At the same time, warm indoor air is expelled outside. They can be used to cool whole areas or for spot-cooling.

Fan systems

• Ceiling fans – ceiling fans circulate air to create a breeze. Using a ceiling fan also allows you to run your air conditioner at a higher temperature, which can save money on power bills.
• Mobile mancoolers – these are industrial barrel-style fans that not only cool the air but provide ventilation and extracting, in turn improving air quality.

Portable air conditioners

If your workspace doesn’t have air conditioning installed, portable systems can be used instead. A benefit of portable systems is they can be moved around to different areas or transferred to other workshops or spaces as needed.

Portable air conditioners can be used to cool areas within a building or for spot cooling.
